Who we are.

Abide church is built around the idea that abiding in Jesus is the one thing that is necessary to produce the fruit of the kingdom. There are a lot of things we could focus on, and they are all important, but abiding is the key to fruitfulness. We love the simplicity of being with Jesus, makes us more like him, and in turn our lives produce what pleases God! In order to protect abiding as a priority in our lives we want to simplify things. A phrase we love to use is simplicity for the sake of intimacy. Simplicity of life is intentional for the sake of devoting ourselves to abiding in Christ. This way of life is supported like a trellis supports the vine by a simple life prioritizing the spiritual disciplines. We practice these disciplines as a community that submits itself to the authority and teachings of the sacred scriptures.

  • At Abide Church, we don’t invent our identity, we inherit it from the Word of God. In Acts 2:42, we see the heartbeat of the early church: a Spirit-filled people devoted to practices that expressed their deepest values.

  • These four characteristics provide the scriptural foundation for us as a Christ-abiding, Spirit-filled, Scripture-shaped community.

  1. We Value The Apostle’s Teaching
We devote ourselves to the teaching of Scripture, recognizing that God’s Word is living and active, powerfully sanctifying us as we hear, believe, and obey it. The Bible shapes our hearts and minds, guiding us into holiness and faithful obedience to Christ. Through Scripture, we are formed into His image and equipped for every good work. (Acts 2:42, John 17:17, Rom. 12:1-2)

  2. We Value Fellowship
We are devoted to sharing life as a spiritual family, encouraging one another in faith and love (Hebrews 10:24-25). Each member contributes their unique spiritual gifts for the building up of the body (1 Corinthians 12:4-7), and together we stir one another toward good works and perseverance (Hebrews 10:24). Our fellowship is marked by mutual care, accountability, and joyful service as we grow together in Christ. (Acts 2:42)

  3. We Value The Breaking of Bread
We are devoted to gathering regularly around the Lord’s Table, just as the early church did. In the breaking of bread, we remember Christ’s sacrifice, proclaim His death, and encounter His presence in the fellowship of believers. This shared meal is more than a symbol, it’s a sacred practice that anchors us in the gospel and unites us as one body. (Acts 2:42, 1 Cor. 10:16)

  4. We Value Prayer
We are devoted to coming together in prayer as a way to receive and cooperate with God’s sanctifying grace. Through heartfelt petition, confession, and thanksgiving, we open ourselves to the transforming work of the Holy Spirit, who cleanses, renews, and empowers us to live holy lives. Prayer is not only our communication with God but also His gracious means of shaping us into the likeness of Christ. (Acts 1:8, 2:42)

The Vision

Abide church longs to see everyone come into a lifestyle of truly abiding in Christ, producing the fruit of the kingdom, which is expressed by obedience to the great commands and commission.

The Mission

Abide church is creating a Christ-centered community where abiding leads to spiritual transformation, faithful obedience, and multiplying discipleship.

A soul filled with large thoughts of the Vine will be a strong branch, and

will abide confidently in Him. Be much occupied with Jesus, and believe

much in Him, as the True Vine.
